Alexandre Lacazette gave Arsenal the lead over Liverpool in their recent clash but goals from Andy Robertson, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota saw the Reds come from behind and maintain their perfect start to the campaign.
Michael Owen expects both teams to ring the changes for the cup fixture but still believes Liverpool will come out on top.
The former Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and England striker told BetVictor: ‘These two face-off for the second time in a week.
‘Liverpool were the winners in an enthralling encounter at Anfield on Monday and I think we could see more of the same here.
‘Arsenal caused Liverpool a few problems, but the Champions were just too good on the night.
‘Both sides should look different in terms of their starting elevens, and although I can could see Arsenal going close, I think the Reds will edge it.’
Speaking after Liverpool’s Premier League victory over Arsenal, Klopp said: ‘I’m completely happy with our performance. We played good football, we were flexible, we mixed it up.
‘I’m really pleased for Diogo Jota. Top, top guy. It’s so difficult to improve a team like ours. He’s been on my list for two or three years, he’s here now.’
Gunners boss Arteta, meanwhile, said: ‘We were in it for a big part of the game. The reality is they are superior to us in many aspects.
‘I’m really happy in the way the team competed and kept believing. This is the standard we have to reach. We have a long way to go in many things.’
Following the EFL Cup clash, Liverpool return to Premier League action on Sunday against Aston Villa, while Arsenal face Sheffield United.
