Arsenal star David Luiz is no longer on speaking terms with manager Mikel Arteta after the Spaniard vowed to ‘destory’ whoever was behind the leaks that led to reports of a training ground fight between the Brazilian and team-mate Dani Ceballos.
The pair were sent home from the training ground after the duo were separated following a fight in a practice match during an international break in November.
At the time, Ceballos denied the reports but Arteta admitted them a day later and he was furious that the fight was leaked.
‘I don’t like the fact that that incident comes out at all,’ said Arteta.
‘I will find out where it is coming from and if that is the case, that goes completely against what I expect from each other, the privacy and the confidentiality that we need, and there will be consequences.’
Ceballos has been in and out of the side all season, but Luiz had been a virtual mainstay until he recently suffered a head injury in a defeat against Wolves.
However, Football.London claims the incident has had a lasting effect on Arteta as he was so furious that the fight had been leaked.
Arteta is said to have vowed to ‘destroy’ the culrpit, with the report claiming that a series of agents had gifted the story to the press.
It’s claimed since that Arteta is no longer on speaking terms with Luiz, with the mood between the pair having ‘soured’ over recent weeks.
Arteta was scathing in his television interviews after the Ivory Coast winger was sent off for an off-the-ball incident at Elland Road.
Certain members of the squad were said to be miffed at Arteta’s decision to publicly criticise a member of the team and feel that it added to a hostile atmosphere at the club.
