N’Golo Kante is settled at Chelsea and prepared to bat away interest from Inter Milan, according to reports.
The Blues are in the midst of an extraordinary recruitment drive this summer, having already secured the signatures of Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, as well as youngsters Malang Sarr and Xavier Mbuyamba.
Next on the agenda is Kai Havertz, with the club reported to have agreed a club-record £90million deal with Bayer Leverkusen for the midfielder.
Their extravagant outlay has led to suggestions that player sales may need to be made to help fund these signings, and Kante is one of the names that has been mentioned.
The French World Cup winner has suffered with injuries of late, making just 27 appearances in all competitions last season.
But according to Goal, Kante isn’t pressing for a move away from the west London club, despite interest from Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte to reunite with the midfielder.
The Italian coach managed the 29-year-old for two seasons at Stamford Bridge, winning the Premier League and FA Cup together.
The report states that although Kante is settled, a substantial offer may entice Chelsea.
However, the Serie A side aren’t in the financial position to pay any mega-money fees for players this summer.
‘We have an idea to try to add to improve, as you should do at a club of our level,’ Lampard told Chelsea’s official website.
‘We know that has not been absolutely possible for us, and we knew the ban and all this talk, and it was important for me to try to improve the squad and with the players that we are bringing in.
‘It feels that way, but we need to be careful of getting too far ahead of ourselves because we need to give time to players to come in and adapt, to the way I want us to play and to their team-mates.
‘But I think the moves we are making our positive, so I am excited and then it is up to us to get our heads down and work very hard.’
