Nigeria head coach, Austin Eguavoen has declared that the team is ready for the match against Benin Republic on Thursday night.
The Super Eagles would be set to battle it out against Benin, coached by former Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr.
In a press conference ahead of the match, Eguavoen said, “We worked with Gernot Rohr for many years, very good coach, no doubt. He knows us in and out and we also know him and what he is capable of.”
“The mindset is to win but it’s easier said than done. We fight for every goal, every point and that’s what we want to do tomorrow. Respect to Benin, they are not pushovers but we will work jard to achieve our objectives.”
The match will be played at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire at 8pm Nigerian time.
A win or draw will see Nigeria through to the next AFCON, scheduled to take place from 21st December 2025 to 18th January 2026 in Morocco.
