In today’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixtures, Enyimba International FC faced Heartland FC at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba. The match concluded in a 1-1 draw.
Heartland took the lead in the 18th minute through a penalty converted by D. Ekpo. Enyimba equalized in the 55th minute with a goal from Joseph Atule. Both sides were unable to find a winner as the match ended in a stalemate.
Meanwhile in Minna, Niger Tornadoes secured a 2-1 victory over Kwara United. The opening goal came as early as the first minute as Ifeanyi Okechukwu put the hosts ahead. Kwara United were reduced to 10 men following a straight red card to Ismaila Gata.
Capitalizing on the numerical disadvantage, Niger Tornadoes doubled their lead in the 85th minute through AbdulRasheed Shehu Dabai before Junior Aimufua scored a consolation goal for the visitors late into additional time.
In another fixture, Katsina United recorded a narrow win over Plateau United. A 93rd minute penalty converted by Ibrahim Mohammed was all that separated the two sides as the hosts left it late to snatch all three points.
It was a four-goal thriller at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt as the match between Rivers United and Bendel Insurance ended in a 2-2 draw.
Meyiwa Oritseweyinmi gave the vistors an early lead in the 6th minute before Friday Ubong leveled proceedings in the 34th minute. Bendel took the lead for the second time in the match through Uche Collins four minutes after the restart but the lead did not last long as Handsome Surveyor equalized just two minutes later to ensure spoils were shared between both teams.
Rivers United sit in third with 35 points, seven behind leaders, Remo Stars. Bendel Insurance are 17th with 22 points while Niger Tornadoes sit seventh with 30 points.
