The Brazilian made his first appearance for the club as United sealed a famous win at the Parc des Princes after Marcus Rashford scored an 87th minute winnter in the French capital.
Telles started at left wing-back as Harry Maguire’s absence forced Solskjaer into a back three, which saw first choice left-back Luke Shaw play as a left-sided centre-back.
The 27-year-old looked resolute defensively but it was his attacking prowess that had United supporters talking, with Telles whipping in a number of tantalising crosses in open play and from set pieces.
‘You can see Alex [Telles] on his debut, what he’s going to give us. His delivery was great,’ said Solskjaer.
In a later press conference, Solskjaer expanded on what Telles’ attributes can give United in order to play in different systems.
‘I think we’ve shown today that we have a squad that can play different ways and in different systems,’ said Solskjaer.
‘Alex played very well on his debut, we know his delivery is fantastic. We’ve got players back home in Harry Maguire, Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Mason Greenwood and Eric Bailly so I’m looking forward to the next few weeks and months.’
Should United play a back four, Shaw is likelier to play left-back meaning Telles would drop to the bench.
Edinson Cavani hopes to make his debut for the club against Frank Lampard’s side.
Anthony Martial will serve the second of a three-match ban, meaning Cavani or Mason Greenwood could come into the side.
