Paul Onuachu and Joseph Ayodele Aribo scored to help Southampton record their first league win thirteen matches.
The Saints recorded a 2-1 at Ipswich on Saturday afternoon at Portman Road.
Joe Aribo gave the visitors the lead on the 16th minute – his third of the campaign.
The midfielder released a one-time left-footed strike in the box which sailed into the middle of the net.
Paul Onuachu’s claim for a penalty on the half hour mark was waved off by the referee after what looked like an infringement in the box.
Liam Delap restored parity for the home side as he powered a strike from range from blistering counter attack display.
Delap almost put Ipswich ahead four minutes later with a goal-bound shot but former Arsenal goalie, Aaron Ramsdale reacted quickly to deny him.
Joe Aribo missed a good chance to put Southampton back into the lead but his shot from the box went inches wide.
Paul Onuachu scored the winner with three minutes from time from a rebound as Southampton secured maximum points for the first time since November 2024.
Onuachu’s goal is his first in the league after 13 matches.
Unfortunately, despite the win, Southampton are still 20th on the log with 9 points from 24 matches.
