Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen has pledged to repay Galatasaray and their passionate fans for their support, following a hard-fought victory over arch-rivals Fenerbahce in the Turkish Cup.
The 26-year-old’s brace in the heated Istanbul derby propelled the Lions into the semifinals, as they look to complete a famous league and cup double.
Reflecting on the intense showdown, Osimhen acknowledged the high stakes.
“We know that Galatasaray vs Fenerbahce matches are high-intensity and tough matches,” he told the club’s website. “It is necessary to focus from the first minute to the ninetieth.”
Osimhen also expressed his determination to make up for the team’s disappointing performance the previous week.
“We were optimistic when we came. Last week, unfortunately, we made our fans unhappy. We had to play well here to make up for them.”
The Nigerian striker’s affection for Galatasaray has grown since his arrival, and he’s not afraid to show it.
“As I said in my previous interviews, I liked this club since I came here. I loved the people here; I loved the fans.”
