Victor Osimhen made a triumphant return to the starting lineup, scoring a brilliant brace as Galatasaray thrashed Kayserispor 5-1.
The Nigerian striker, who had been sidelined with an injury for two weeks, marked his comeback with a composed penalty in the fourth minute, followed by an audacious chip in the second half.
Osimhen’s outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award and played a crucial role in Galatasaray’s resounding victory.
The win also marked a significant milestone for head coach Okan Buruk, who became the fastest manager to secure 75 league victories in his first 90 matches in the Süper Lig.
After the game, Osimhen reflected on his performance and his manager’s achievement:
“It is important to be part of a big family like this. I adapted very easily with Barış, Yunus, Gabi, and Dries. I quickly learned their game, and it made me happy to be of help.
We are undefeated in Europe. We must go step by step as we continue our journey in the Süper Lig.”
On the team’s win, Osimhen added:
“For sure, we won because we believed. I’m very happy to help the team. Our overall performance was excellent.
“We also thank our fans very much—their voices echoed throughout the field.”
