Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has agreed to a contract extension, securing his position as manager of the Premier League champions until 2026.
Guardiola’s existing deal, signed in 2022, was set to expire at the end of the current season.
The new agreement includes an option for an additional year, which will take him past the 10-year mark at a club for the first time in his career.
Since joining City in 2016, the 53-year-old has achieved remarkable success, leading the team to six league titles, two FA Cups, a Champions League triumph (part of their 2023 treble), a FIFA Club World Cup, and four League Cups.
Guardiola previously managed Barcelona (2008-12) and Bayern Munich (2013-16), winning three league titles at each club.
The announcement comes as City sit second in the Premier League table, five points behind Liverpool after 11 games.
