Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has proven Garth Crooks wrong and he was seriously impressed by his performance against Arsenal this weekend.
He thought Hojbjerg looked the ‘real deal’ in the middle of the park as Tottenham strolled to a 2-0 win.
While it was Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min who scored the goals, Hojbjerg and midfield partner Moussa Sissoko worked tirelessly to keep a blunt Arsenal at bay.
Crooks was hugely impressed by the nature of the performance of the former Bayern Munich man, who controlled proceedings well.
And he claimed that Hojbjerg had Willian ‘in his pocket’ for the majority of the game.
‘What has become increasingly obvious is that here is another Mourinho player. Hojbjerg is looking like the real deal in a side that is more interested in being solid than pretty football.
‘In fact, Hojbjerg had Willian in his pocket for much of the game. If these performances continue like this, I might get to like Mourinho.’
