Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given an injury update on Bukayo Saka, Riccardo Calafiori, and Jurrien Timber ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against Liverpool.
Arteta said all three players might be available, but it’s uncertain.
“We are going to do our very best to somehow have them available, but it’s very uncertain,” he stated.
Bukayo Saka has started training on the grass, but Arteta is unsure if he’ll be ready by Sunday.
“He’s done a bit of training on the grass. How far we can get him by Sunday, that is a different question, but we will see.”
Riccardo Calafiori needs more tests. “He needs some more tests. Yesterday he had some, today he is going to have some more, and after that, we will know.”
Jurrien Timber is returning to training after a long absence.
“It’s the first session that he could have some involvement. He’s been out for a while, we have to wait and see.”
The Gunners will be eager to avoid defeat after last weekend’s 2-0 reverse against Bournemouth. The absence of William Saliba will be a huge problem but one that Arteta must find a solution to.
