Manchester City came from behind to secure a crucial 3-1 victory over Chelsea and leapfrog the Blues into the top four.
New signings Omar Marmoush and Abdukodir Khusanov were picked by Pep Guardiola to make their debuts.
However, Khusanov’s calamitous error in the third minute allowed Chelsea to take the lead. A looping ball bounced over his head, and he nodded it into the path of Nicolas Jackson, who laid off for Noni Madueke to score into an empty net.
City regained their composure and ended the half on top. Joško Gvardiol capitalized on a well-timed run by Matheus Nunes, sweeping home the equalizer.
In the second half, Erling Haaland chipped a poorly positioned Robert Sánchez to give City the lead. Haaland then showed strength to hold off his marker, laying off the ball for Phil Foden to slot home his sixth goal in four Premier League appearances, sealing the win for City.
