‘Zidane? We all heard it [the speculation], things were said. My reply? Yes, every football player would like to play at Real Madrid. It may be a dream. It’s a dream for me, why not one day?’ Pogba said during a press conference with France’s national team.
‘I’m in Manchester and I love my club. I’m performing in Manchester, I’m enjoying myself and I want to do everything to put the club back where it deserves to be. I’ll give my all, just like my team-mates.’
But according to AS, despite Pogba’s evident desire to move to Real Madrid, the Spanish club have no plans to make another push to sign the 27-year-old.
Zinedine Zidane is a huge admirer of Pogba but Real Madrid have plans to make the signing of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain their top priority next summer.
Madrid are also planning to sign Rennes’ highly rated 17-year-old midfielder Eduardo Camavinga at the end of the season.
Madrid also have Erling Haaland at the top of their shortlist of candidates to replace Karim Benzema once the French striker’s contract expires in 2022.
However, United were demanding a transfer fee well in excess of £100m and Madrid were unwilling to match that valuation.
