In a recent interview with ESPN Africa, Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema disclosed his top three footballers of all time, naming Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, and Lionel Messi.
He also expressed a special admiration for former Argentine forward Carlos Tevez, particularly highlighting his virtual prowess during Rema’s PlayStation 2 (PS2) gaming days.
Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor, elaborated on his choices, stating: “Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, and the third one is hard, but I’ll say Messi. I was going to say someone else because I was really a huge fan of Tevez, especially when he was at Manchester United, and then he went on to Manchester City. At that time, I was heavy on the PS2. I love Tevez. On the console, he could shoot from anywhere.”
The interview has sparked discussions among fans, with some expressing surprise at the absence of Nigerian football legends in his top picks, while others appreciate his candidness and the personal nature of his selections.
