Nigerian winger, Moses Simon assisted Nantes’ only goal in their 4-1 defeat against Brest on Sunday evening.
Nantes began brightly with Nicolas Pallois and Moses Simon forcing Brest goalkeeper into two great saves. However, Brest broke the deadlock in the 24th minute through a Kamory Doumbia volley.
The hosts doubled their lead just three minutes later through a brilliant header by captain, Brandon Chardonnet from a Roman Del Castillo delivery.
Douglas Augusto halved the deficit for Nantes with a thunderous strike from outside the box following a Simon assist in the 48th minute. However, this proved to only be a consolation goal as a brace from Abdallah Sima in the closing stages of the match sealed the win for Brest.
Simon has been an outstanding performer for struggling Nantes this season, with four goals and five assists in 15 appearances this season. Nantes sit just one point above the relegation zone with 14 points in 15 games.
