Super Eagles of Nigeria stars Chuba Akpom and Chidera Ejuke were in impressive form in Europe.
Chuba Akpom showed off his skills in the Netherlands as he came off the bench to help Ajax defeat Groningen 3-1 and score a crucial goal.
Even though he has only started one league game this year, Akpom entered the game in the 59th minute in place of Brian Brobbey with Ajax leading 1-0.
In stoppage time, Akpom scored an explosive goal assisted by Wout Weghorst.
It was his second goal of the season and as provided an assist in four games this season.
Chidera Ejuke wins award for Sevilla
At the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium in Spain, Chidera Ejuke earned his fifth start of the year and contributed to a spirited Sevilla’s 1-0 victory over Real Betis in La Liga.
After the game, Ejuke was named Sevilla’s September Player of the Month.
For Garcia Pimienta’s team, Ejuke has contributed one goal in five league appearances.
On September 24, the 26-year-old scored the winning goal as the Rojiblancos recorded a 2-1 triumph over Real Valladolid.
After joining on a free transfer in the summer, the former CSKA Moscow player has maintained his impressive play at the club.
Due to his outstanding play, Ejuke has been called up to the Super Eagles for their doubleheader 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against the Libyan Mediterranean Knights.
