Captain of Nigeria’s senior men’s football team – Super Eagles, Williams Troost-Ekong, handed some of his followers cash gifts in celebration of the recently concluded Sallah celebration.
Troost-Ekong asked fans to send their bank account numbers to him in a post on his Snapchat story on Monday.
The Super Eagles captain transferred N50,000 to a couple of fans and shared the transaction receipts on his story as well.
The 32-year-old is known for being magnanimous as he runs a foundation in his hometown, Uyo, in Akwa Ibom State.
William Troost-Ekong hopes to help less-privileged children get a better chance at life through sports and education with his foundation.
The Super Eagles defender is also looking to develop orphanages and schools in his hometown and develop minds that will become visionary community leaders in the future.
Meanwhile, William Troost-Ekong has assured fans that the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after yet another disappointing display in the March window of the qualifiers.
The Super Eagles defeated Rwanda in Kigali but failed to secure maximum points against Zimbabwe on home soil which has further narrowed the chances of the team of securing top spot in Group C.
