Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has revealed his favorite position on the pitch of play.
Dele-Bashiru says he’s comfortable playing on both ends of the midfield role – attacking and defensive.
The midfielder has featured as an attacking midfielder in most of his Super Eagles appearances so far which has seen him score two goals in six matches.
In recent matches for Lazio, the 23-year-old has played as one of the two pivots in Marco Baroni’s 4-2-3-1 set up.
Dele-Bashiru says he’s a box to box midfielder and added that he’s comfortable playing either deep in midfield or close to the forward line.
“We were good at always believing in ourselves, I scored a lucky goal. I’m happy to have scored again, now I have even more confidence in my abilities. When I arrived the fans didn’t know me very well, I’m doing my best.
“I’m a box-to-box midfielder, I feel good both in defense and offense, but if I score even better. Who do I prefer to play with? It doesn’t matter, I feel good with everyone”.
The midfielder was arguably the best player on the pitch in Lazio’s 3-1 victory over Ajax in the Europa League on Thursday.
Dele-Bashiru scored the second goal on the night as he got on to Zaccagni’s cross from the back post.
The VAR assistant referee confirmed Dele-Bashiru’s goal after it appeared that Ajax goalkeeper saved the ball.
