Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga title defense faced a significant setback after being held to a 0-0 draw by Union Berlin at home.
Super Eagles duo Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella were involved in the match, but their contributions didn’t yield the desired outcome.
It ends goalless.

Boniface, who had a disappointing start in the previous week’s win against Heidenheim, began the match on the bench. He was brought on in the 75th minute and given just 15 minutes to make an impact, but he couldn’t score as Leverkusen struggled to make any real headway.
The bigger concern for Leverkusen was Nathan Tella, who suffered a heavy collision with Union goalkeeper Frederik Ronnow while chasing a loose ball and was forced off the pitch.
The draw has left Leverkusen’s title hopes in jeopardy, with their late pressure only resulting in a single point. Bayern Munich are now heavy favourites to reclaim the title, should they defeat Borussia Dortmund in the late game.
