Tottenham delivered under huge pressure to beat AZ Alkmaar 3-1 and reach the Europa League quarter-finals.
Ange Postecoglou’s side knew their season was on the line in north London, with this competition their last hope of ending the campaign in successful fashion.
After a 1-0 defeat in the first leg, Spurs levelled up the tie on aggregate before half-time here, as Wilson Odobert converted from Dominic Solanke’s pass for his first goal for the club.
James Maddison then struck shortly after the break to give Spurs some level of control, but that was surrendered when Peer Koopmeiners pulled one back.
However, Odobert restored the lead in the tie with his second of the night, finishing at the back post after a brilliant team move, and that proved to be enough for a 3-2 aggregate win.
Spurs will face Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-finals, after they thrashed Ajax 6-2 over two legs to progress.
