Manchester United’s woes deepened on Boxing Day as they suffered a humiliating 2-0 defeat at Molineux, leaving their Premier League campaign in tatters.
The Red Devils, already reeling from a string of disappointing results, were dealt a major blow just minutes into the second half when Bruno Fernandes was sent off for a second yellow card. This left United a man down and facing an uphill battle against a revitalized Wolves side.
Matheus Cunha proved to be the hero for the home side. He broke the deadlock after scoring directly from a corner before turning provider in the last minute of additional time, unselfishly squaring the ball to Hwang Hee Chan to seal the victory and pile further misery on United.
This defeat marks a new low for United under manager Ruben Amorim, who is now facing mounting pressure after just a few months in charge. United now sit 14th on the table.
