Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has delivered a clear message to Premier League suitors Chelsea and Arsenal ahead of the January transfer window.
Osimhen was heavily linked to top clubs in the summer, with Chelsea coming closest to securing his signature. However, the deal fell through due to a difference in wage demands.
The Super Eagles star, now on loan at Galatasaray has reignited interest across Europe with his impressive form in Turkey, and Chelsea remain keen on the striker.
However, Osimhen has quashed rumors of a January exit, declaring his loyalty to the Turkish giants for the season.
Speaking after Galatasaray’s game against Besiktas, Osimhen was asked about his plans for January:
“Of course, I’ll stay here until the end of the season. My contract ends in May and I will be here.”
This statement may force clubs like Chelsea, still seeking a reliable No. 9, to reassess their transfer plans or wait until the summer for the Super Eagles man.
