United head to Manchester City off the back of three consecutive goalless draws in all competitions with their neighbours now 14 points clear at the summit of the Premier League.
Solskjaer’s side laboured in south London against Crystal Palace on Wednesday with Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba, Victor Lindelof, Donny van de Beek and Juan Mata all missing out.
But with the exception of Mata, Solskjaer hasn’t ruled out some returns for the visit to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
‘We’re still hoping to get one or two back of course,’ Solskjaer told MUTV on Friday.
‘We can’t promise any of them being available that weren’t available in the last game against Palace.
‘So we’ll go with the same squad if not.’
Pogba has not featured since limping off in the 3-3 draw with Everton at the start of February with a thigh problem.
Martial did not make the trip to the capital after picking up a knee injury in training on Monday while van de Beek has sat out his side’s last five games.
David de Gea will also miss the derby having returned to Spain for the birth of his first child.
