Paul Pogba has not been included in Manchester United’s squad to play West Bromich Albion as he has picked up a knock on his ankle, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed.
The Frenchman has not been passed fit to play in the game at Old Trafford on Saturday evening, but Solskjaer hopes Pogba will be able to return for United’s Champions League clash against Istanbul Basaksehir on Tuesday.
‘He [Pogba] tried to finish the last session but it [ankle] got worse and worse so he is unavailable today,’ the Norwegian boss said.
‘Hopefully he is OK for Tuesday [against Istanbul] but we’ll see.’
Meanwhile, left-back Alex Telles makes his long-awaited Premier League debut for the Red Devils in place of the injured Luke Shaw.
‘It’s a great chance for him [Telles], he has been waiting a long time to play,’ Solskjaer added. ‘He is such a fantastic character and as a player he has great quality which we will get to see.’
