Triple H might be a big fan of West Ham – but WALTER doesn’t share his love for the Hammers.
The NXT UK superstar – who is the reigning United Kingdom Champion on the British version of the WWE’s black and gold brand – stopped by the London Stadium recently to have a look round, and it’s fair to say the Schalke fan wasn’t impressed.
Walking along the touchline, he quipped: ‘They haven’t seen a champion for a while here, right?! Ha! This is new for you guys, right?’
The huge Austrian wrestler couldn’t resist taking a dig at the size of the ground, comparing it to German club Schalke’s impressive indoor home, the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.
‘It’s half the size of Schalke,’ he laughed in BT Sport’s clip, before turning his attention to the Olympic running track. ‘Can you move out the field?
‘Schalke, they move out the grass, they can shut the roof. Garbage! What are you supposed to do with that?’
He still wasn’t done, even suggesting he was ‘giving back’ with his visit as he graced the stadium with his presence.
He teased: ‘I’m all about giving back. I got informed there hasn’t been a champion in this stadium for a long time, so I’m glad I could be the first one in a while.’
His comments won’t go down well with fans of the Irons, including his own boss Triple H, who has made no secret of his fandom.
Indeed, the WWE legend recently issued a plea to West Ham lad Declan Rice and urged him to stay with his boyhood club instead of making a move to Chelsea.
He said: ‘To not just succeed but to succeed on your terms. Build your franchise. Build your legacy.
‘To become something more, to become the one and only, to become the first Declan Rice. Build your legacy. Build your franchise.
‘Become the champion. Become everything that they all know that Declan Rice can be.’
*NXT UK returns tonight on the WWE Network and Friday night on BT Sport.
