The former Atletico Madrid star was instrumental in the Gunners’ first win away at a top-six rival in the last five years, putting in a commanding display in Arsenal’s midfield.
Partey was up against the likes of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes but the Ghanian dominated the middle of the park as Arsenal held out for an important win.
Many have mistakenly labelled Partey as a ‘destroyer’ but the 27-year-old showed his ability on the ball as he broke through United’s midfield on countless occasions, proving his attacking prowess.
Scholes was certainly impressed with Partey’s display, claiming ‘you don’t see many’ players like the Ghanian these days.
‘He’s an all-round midfielder,’ Scholes told Premier League Productions.
‘You don’t see many players like that these days. Midfielders are attacking midfielders or holding midfielders but a midfield players’s job is to do everything,
‘You have to contribute with everything and today he did a brilliant job in all departments.’
The Ghanian was the most notable arrival at the Emirates but Gabriel, a £22m signing form Lille, was equally impressive at the Theatre of Dreams.
