Manchester United’s 1-0 loss to Wolves on Sunday was a huge let-down after Thursday’s thrilling Europa League victory over Lyon.
Ruben Amorim’s squad rotation failed to spark the team, exposing persistent season-long struggles and setting grim statistical milestones.
Manchester United’s Worst Premier League Season Confirmed
The defeat left United with 38 points and five games remaining. Even winning all remaining matches won’t surpass the 58 points from the 2021/22 season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick, cementing this as United’s worst-ever Premier League campaign.
A New Record for Losses
Sunday’s setback was United’s 15th Premier League defeat this season, a new low that eclipses the 14 losses endured under Erik ten Hag last term.
Old Trafford’s Dismal Record
The loss to Wolves also marked United’s eighth Premier League home defeat this season, their worst at Old Trafford since 1962/63, when they suffered nine league defeats at home.
