Guirassy delivered a stunning performance by scoring a perfect hat-trick—goals with his left foot, right foot, and head—against FC Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final second leg tonight.
Despite Dortmund’s 3-1 victory in the match, they were eliminated on a 5-3 aggregate. This feat elevated Guirassy’s Champions League tally to 13 goals in 14 matches, surpassing the single-season records of former Dortmund stars Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski.

1. A Journey from Defense to Prolific Scorer
Born in Arles, France, in 1996, Guirassy’s early footballing days were unconventional. Initially playing as a defender and showing limited interest in the sport, he briefly stepped away from football.
His passion reignited at a local rival club, leading to a professional career that saw him play for clubs like Stade Lavallois, Lille, Auxerre, and Cologne.
His tenure at Amiens and Rennes further honed his skills, but it was at VfB Stuttgart where he truly flourished, netting 30 goals in a season and propelling the team into the Champions League.
This impressive form earned him a move to Borussia Dortmund in July 2024.

In his debut season with Dortmund, Guirassy has continued his goal-scoring momentum, registering 15 goals in 25 Bundesliga appearances.
