5 Super Eagles stars who can easily buy Sophia Egbueje a Lamborghini

In the world of football, financial success often translates into extravagant lifestyles, luxurious assets, and high-end spending.

Many of Nigeria’s Super Eagles players have reached the pinnacle of their careers, earning millions of dollars annually from club contracts, endorsements, and bonuses.

With such financial muscle, acquiring a luxury car like a Lamborghini—typically costing between $200,000 and $500,000—is no big deal for them.

Recently, Nigerian socialite and entrepreneur, Sophia Egbueje made headlines when she acquired a Lamborghini, following claims that Afrobeat star, Burna Boy had promised but failed to buy one for her.

In response to the controversy, Egbueje showcased her new ride on social media, declaring: “My baby is here. As dem no buy am, I buy am.”

But if Burna Boy didn’t fulfill the promise, there are several Nigerian football stars who could easily afford such a lavish gift.

Here are five Super Eagles players who have the financial capability to purchase a Lamborghini without breaking a sweat.

1. Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen is currently Nigeria’s most valuable footballer and one of the highest-paid players in Africa. The Napoli/ Galatasaray striker signed a massive contract extension that earns him around €12 million per year (approximately $13 million), with a weekly wage of about £167,000.

Osimhen’s lucrative deal with Napoli, coupled with endorsements from brands, means he could easily afford multiple Lamborghinis without denting his finances.

The 2023 CAF African Player of the Year already owns a Lamborghini himself amongst other luxury cars, and could effortlessly buy a Lamborghini for Sophia Egbueje if he wished.

2. Victor Boniface

The young Super Eagles striker has been a revelation in Europe, currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.

At just 23, Boniface commands an impressive salary of €6 million per year ($6.5 million), or around $125,000 per week.

With such earnings, purchasing a Lamborghini would be like a routine shopping expense for him. Boniface is also tipped for a big-money move in the future, which could see his wages soar even higher.

3. Samuel Chukwueze

Samuel Chukwueze, the talented Nigerian winger who joined AC Milan from Villarreal, currently earns £84,413 per week (about $110,000). This translates to approximately $5.7 million per year.

Known for his speed and dribbling skills, Chukwueze also enjoys a luxurious lifestyle. With endorsement deals and bonuses from club football, acquiring a Lamborghini would be effortless for him.

4. Alex Iwobi

Alex Iwobi, formerly with Arsenal and Everton, now plies his trade at Fulham in the English Premier League, earning around $5.57 million per year. As a Premier League player, Iwobi enjoys top-tier wages and sponsorships, making him one of Nigeria’s wealthiest footballers.

A Lamborghini is just a fraction of his yearly earnings, meaning he could easily buy one for Sophia Egbueje—if he were inclined to.

5. Wilfred Ndidi

Wilfred Ndidi remains one of the highest-paid Nigerian footballers, earning £75,000 per week (around $95,000). The midfield enforcer has been a consistent performer for both club and country, securing lucrative contracts over the years.

With an annual salary running into several million dollars, Ndidi, like his Super Eagles teammates, could easily purchase a Lamborghini without financial strain.
