Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo has been given the steps to take if he wants to switch his international allegiance from England to Nigeria.
Adarabioyo a Manchester City youth product was born in England and featured for their youth teams through the ranks.
Adarabioyo and Nigeria
Before being selected for the Super Eagles, Chelsea defender Adarabioyo must formally declare his desire to play for the team, according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The 27-year-old centre-back has previously turned down offers to represent Nigeria, despite efforts made by the NFF.
The NFF previously made contact with Adarabioyo in the hopes that he would agree to play for the Nigerian national team.
Last year José Peseiro, the former head coach of the Super Eagles, attempted to recruit Adarabioyo to the team.
The player declined to join the team at that time, despite the coach traveling to the United Kingdom to meet with him.
Despite multiple meetings, Adarabioyo was not ready to commit to the Green and white of Nigeria.
According to recent reports, Adarabioyo appears to have reignited his interest in competing for Nigeria.
The defender must, however, take official action if he really wishes to switch his international allegiance and be given consideration for future call-ups.
