Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, believes the Gunners’ chances of winning the Premier League this season have become very slim after recent consecutive defeats.
Arsenal recently lost to Newcastle United in the Premier League last weekend.
Henry, who won two league titles during his time at the club, believes their hopes of claiming a first league trophy since 2004 will be over if they lose to Chelsea on Sunday.
Speaking to CBS Sports, the France icon said:
“Right now, I don’t think so; they are not challenging for the league; obviously, as you can see, the results are not good enough to be able to be at the top, still a long way to go.
“That is what I’m saying; let’s see what is going to happen against Chelsea.”
Also, when asked if Arsenal will be out of the Premier League title race if they lose to Chelsea, Henry added, “I think it will be extremely difficult.”
“Why? Because you have too many teams to catch. One team can have a problem, but one or two – we’re going with Liverpool and Manchester City—I don’t see two teams collapsing; that is my issue.”
