Ademola Lookman has revealed how playing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria changed his career for good.
After difficult stints at Leicester, Fulham and Leipzig, the 27-year-old is now enjoying stability in his career both in the national team and his club side Atalanta.
Ademola Lookman has enjoyed a brilliant run of form over the last 18 months as he led the Super Eagles to the 2024 AFCON final.
He also helped Atalanta win their first European title with a hat trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen in Dublin.
At the 2024 Ballon D’or, Lookman finished in 14th place.
He’s also the favorite to win CAF Men’s Player of the Year Award later this month.

The 27-year-old forward told SportyTV how the Super Eagles transformed his career and the progress he has made playing for the team.
He also talked on the team’s performance at this year’s AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire and how they are working to build on what they achieved.
“That was a big turning point in my career. Ever since I put on the Super Eagles jersey, it’s been fruitful. We’re still growing together as a team. The togetherness of the squad is special; we showed that at the last AFCON.”
“We got to the final, and unfortunately, we came up a bit short, but the foundations are there. It’s just a fantastic feeling to be a part of, to be able to hold that with pride, to be able to say I represented my country.”
Ademola Lookman has scored 11 goals, 5 assists in 17 matches for Atalanta this season.
The winger scored 2 goals in 4 matches as the Super Eagles qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
