Super Eagles team B – the CHAN Eagles have qualified for the 2025 African Nations Championship.

The CHAN Eagles outclassed Ghana Black Galaxies after a dominant display on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

Remo Stars duo of Sodiq Ismail, Nduka Junior and Enugu Rangers’ versatile midfielder Isaac Saviour got on the scoresheet as the CHAN Eagles secured a convincing 3-1 win.

The CHAN Eagles started the game with clear intentions to win and got into the lead early in the match.

Remo Stars right full-back Sodiq Ismail beat the offaide trap and was left one-on-one with the goalkeeper before slotting the ball into the bottom-left corner.

Moments later, captain of the side, Nduka Junior doubled as he unleashed a ferocious shot in the box after a goal-mouth scramble.

Ghana Black Galaxies woke up from their slumber and got into the game in the second half.

Stephen Amankona pulled one back for Ghana on the 73rd minute as the Black Galaxies attempted a comeback.

However, the coach Daniel Ogunmodede’s men almost scored a fourth from Alimi Sikiru’s header but the goalkeeper pulled a brilliant save to deny the Remo Stars striker.

The match ended 3-1 as the CHAN Eagles qualified for the African Nations Championship for the first time since 2018.

Coach Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ilechukwu will look to take charge of the team when they represent the country at the 8th edition of the tournament in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya next year.

The competition will hold between the 1st and 28th of February, 2025.
