In a thrilling encounter, Zamalek SC secured a 3-1 victory over Enyimba FC in the CAF Confederations Cup Group D match held at Cairo International Stadium.
Zamalek took the lead in the 29th minute when Mostafa Shalaby found the back of the net, capitalizing on a defensive lapse by Enyimba. Shortly after the halftime break, in the 48th minute, Seifeddine Jaziri doubled Zamalek’s advantage with a well-placed shot, making it 2-0 for the home side.
Enyimba responded in the 57th minute, as Ifeanyi Ihemekwele scored to reduce the deficit to 2-1. Jaziri added a second to make it 3-1 to the hosts in the 87th minute, eliminating any chance of a fight back by Enyimba.
This victory propels Zamalek to the top of Group D, while Enyimba crashes out of the tournament as they finished third with five points out of a possible 18.
