Nigerian defender, Bruno Onyemaechi has been officially unveiled as the latest signing for Greek football powerhouse, Olympiacos.
The 25-year-old committed to a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Athens-based team completing his transfer from Portuguese club, Boavista where he made 77 appearances, scored five goals, and provided three assists.
Olympiacos secured Onyemaechi’s services for a reported fee of €2.5 million, reflecting the club’s commitment to strengthening its defensive lineup. The Nigerian defender is expected to bring versatility to the team, being adept at both left-back and center-back positions
The unveiling took place at Olympiacos’ Karaiskakis Stadium, where Onyemaechi was presented with the club’s iconic red and white jersey.
During the ceremony, he expressed his enthusiasm about joining one of Greece’s most decorated clubs and his eagerness to contribute to their ongoing success.
In his address, Onyemaechi stated, “I’m really happy to be here. When I first heard about the first proposal, I spoke to my family about it and they were all excited. Now I’m looking forward to it and hope to see the supporters in the stadium.”
Following the unveiling, Onyemaechi is set to join his new teammates in training sessions, preparing for upcoming fixtures in the Greek Super League and the Europa League.
