Bernd Leno displayes good reflex to save Fabian Schar’s volley from the middle of the box.

Moments later, Sandro Tonali powered a rocket-like shot from range which came off the crossbar.

Fulham finally succumbed to pressure as Jacob Murphy put Newcastle ahead with a brilliant shot inside the box.

However, Antonee Robinson’s pass found Raul Jimenez in space, his deflected shot went over the goalkeeper as Fulham equalized against the run of play.

Alexander Isak shot from range smashed the crossbar as Newcastle hunt for the goal to go ahead again.

Unfortunately, for the Toon Army, substitute Rodrigo Muniz got to the end of Andreas Pereira’s free kick to put Fulham ahead.

Super Eagles duo of Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi featured as the Cottagers left St. James’ Park with maximum points as they hit a knot winning after the home loss to Manchester United.

Iwobi played until the 79th minutes before off for English winger Ryan Sessegnon while Bassey was on for the entire match and was rock solid in defense as Newcastle’s attempts for a late equalizer were neutralized.
