Toni Payne recorded her first set of assists as Everton took apart Leicester City in the Women’s Super League.
The host in a brilliant display scored in each half of the match to record a 4-1 win over the visitors at the Walton Hall Park.
French forward Kelly Gago gave the home side the lead five minutes into the start of the match.
However, Leicester City’s midfielder Shannon O’Brien equalized for the visitors about 10 minutes later.
The first half ended one goal a piece in a quite close encounter under the Liverpool sunshine.
Everton started the second half with renewed zest and took the lead again just two minutes after the restart.
Toni Payne found Katja Snoeijs in space and layed a pass towards her and the Dutch striker placed the ball beyond the goalkeeper’s reach.
The visitors fell apart as Japanese midfielder Honoka Hayashi increased the lead in the 57th minute.
Toni Payne bagged her second assist in the 69th minute as Kelly Gago scored again to put Everton 4-1 up.
Payne is yet to score for Everton since hae joined the club from Sevilla last Summer but has three assists to her name.
Everton’s win put them just two points behind rivals Liverpool whom occupy the seventh spot on the log with 15 points after 13 matches in the league.
