Arsenal’s hope of catching up with league leaders Liverpool is back on after digging deep to beat Leicester City at the king Power Stadium on Saturday lunchtime kick-off.

Spanish midfielder Mikel Merino came off the bench and scored twice in nine minutes give the Gunners a 2-0 win as they narrow the gap between them and Liverpool to four momentarily.

It was quite a difficult match for the visitors with three of their first choice forwards: Martinelli, Havertz and Saka injured.

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi had the best chance in the first half but failed to direct his header towards goal.

Ethan Nwaneri, the 17-year-old midfielder showed great skill from the edge of the box and released a shot which came off the bar minute after the hour mark.

The midfielder came close to score the first goal of the match with a snap shot in the box but Mads Hermassen dived quickly to put the ball to away from goal.
