Burkina Faso’s interim military president, Captain Ibrahim Traore, scored a hat-trick in a friendly football match on Wednesday against African football legends, including former Super Eagles captain Jay Jay Okocha and former Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Captain Traore showed his skills on the football pitch as he scored three times in the 8-2 victory over the former African legends.
The friendly match took place at a training facility in the capital of the country as the locals cheered their young president on.
Captain Ibrahim Traore took over the reins of power in Burkina Faso in a coup d’état that ousted former president Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba on 30th September 2022.
Aged 37, Captain Ibrahim Traore is the second youngest head of state world after the president of Iceland, Kristrún Frostadóttir.
One of the many notable decisions he has made is the rejection of Saudi Arabia’s offer to build 200 mosques across the country.
Instead, he asked the Gulf country to build schools, hospitals, and other infrastructure that will help the people of Burkina Faso.
