Wolverhampton Wanderers secured a crucial 1-0 victory over West Ham United on Tuesday, at Molineux Stadium, bolstering their Premier League survival hopes.
The decisive goal came in the 21st minute when striker Jørgen Strand Larsen’s shot deflected off former Wolves captain Maximilian Kilman and found the back of the net.
The match began with West Ham’s Evan Ferguson missing an early opportunity to put the visitors ahead. Wolves responded with Toti Gomes striking the woodwork before Strand Larsen’s fortuitous goal broke the deadlock.
In the second half, West Ham increased their offensive efforts but were unable to capitalize on key chances.
Substitute Niclas Füllkrug’s header hit the crossbar, and Tomas Soucek’s late attempt narrowly missed the target, leaving the Hammers frustrated.
This win marks Wolves’ second consecutive triumph, elevating them to 17th place in the Premier League standings with 29 points.
They now sit 12 points clear of relegation-threatened Ipswich Town and Leicester City, who are both set to play on Wednesday.
