Virgil Van Dijk will remain a Liverpool player for the next few seasons after signing an extension with the club.
The Dutch defender put pen to paper after several months of speculation on his future at the club.
Liverpool announced Van Dijk’s contract extension on its official Instagram page on Thursday morning.
“Van Dijk has today signed a new contract with the Reds to extend his time with the club beyond the 2024/2025”
Van Dijk also reacted to his contract extension with Liverpool with a post on his Instagram page highlighting some of his best memories at the club.
Six days after Mohammed Salah extended his stay at the club, Van Dijk followed in his footsteps and will remain a Liverpool player for the next two years.
Van Dijk and Mohammed Salah are set to lift their second Premier League title together with Liverpool leading the table with 76 points – 13 more than Arsenal in second place.
