Aribo, Onuachu absent as Iwobi’s Fulham seals comeback win over Southampton

Super Eagles’ Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu were missing in action as Southampton played for pride against Fulham at the St. Marys having been relegated from the Premier League.

While Paul Onuachu didn’t make the matchday squad, Joe Aribo was glued to the bench as he watched his side suffered another loss.

Despite taking the lead in the match, the Saints fell to a 2-1 defaet to Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

Jack Stephens put the home side ahead 14 minutes after kick off with header from a precise free-kick into the box.

Southampton took a one-nil lead into the break even though the visitors dominated the proceedings after falling behind.

Kyle Walker-Peters forced Bernd Leno to make a save after the hour mark as he powered a shot towards goal.

With about 15 minutes on the clock, Alex Iwobi found Emile Smith-Rowe in space with a pass and the former Arsenal man’s shot came off a defection to beat his former teammate – Aaron Ramsdale im goal.

English winger Ryan Sessegnon sealed the winner for Fulham in adeed time with a header from Adama Traoré’s cross into the box.
