Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has revealed his love for Afrobeats, surprising fans with his musical taste.
In a recent TTV interview, the young star shared that he’s a big listener of African music, naming Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy and Afrobeats star Rema as his top picks.
“I listen to Afro music a lot,” Yamal said. When the host asked, “Do you have a favourite Afrobeats artist?” he replied, “Burna [Boy] and Rema.”

Yamal’s Afrobeats fandom caught attention, especially since he’s been spotted vibing with Nigerian artist Skales. The connection stems from Skales’ 2015 hit Shake Body, which saw a major resurgence after Yamal went viral for dancing to it alongside teammates Nico Williams and Samu Omorodion.
The clip sparked renewed interest in the song, boosting streams and giving Skales global exposure.
Capitalizing on the moment, Skales recently dropped a new track titled Dance Like Lamine Yamal, a tribute to the Barcelona wonderkid.
Yamal’s love for Afrobeats and his viral dance moves have not only bridged football and music but also shone a spotlight on Nigerian artists, creating a fun, cross-cultural moment for fans worldwide.
