Dessers on target as ruthless Rangers run riot in second-half surge against Aberdeen

Rangers delivered an emphatic second-half performance to cruise to a 4-0 win over Aberdeen, following a cagey and goalless opening 45 minutes.

The match sparked into life after the interval, with Rangers showcasing their attacking quality and clinical edge, much to the delight of the home support.

The breakthrough finally arrived nine minutes into the second half through a moment of brilliance from Nicolas Raskin, who orchestrated the attack from deep midfield.

With time and space, Raskin lifted his head and played a perfectly weighted through ball to Cerny, who was making his 50th appearance for the club. The winger capitalized on a mix-up in the Aberdeen defence, coolly curling a sublime outside-of-the-boot finish past the advancing goalkeeper, Mitov.

Rangers doubled their lead just six minutes later in another slick attacking move. Raskin drifted to the left flank to receive a pass from Cerny who then wrong-footed Kristers Tobers with a sharp chop and delivered a low cross into the six-yard box, where Cyriel Dessers was on hand to slot home from close range.

The third goal came courtesy of substitute Igamane, who took full advantage of a defensive clearance that fell kindly for him 20 yards from goal. The Moroccan forward showcased his talent with a stunning first-time volley that flew past a fully-stretched Mitov, giving the keeper no chance.

Rangers weren’t done yet, and with virtually the last kick of the match, they added a fourth. Cerny, already on the scoresheet, unleashed a thunderous strike that deflected off Jefte and into the net, sealing a convincing victory and capping off an outstanding second-half display.
