Manchester City booked their spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League with a comfortable win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Ilkay Gundogan and Erlin Haaland scored in each halve to secure a 2-0 win over Marco Silva’s men on the final day of the Premier League season.

Gundogan gave Manchester City the lead in the 21st minute as he latched on to a rebound with a sublime overhead kick.

Harry Wilson almost equalized for the Cottagers as he bent a nice shot into the bottom-left corner but Ederson was alert to deny him.

Fulham dominated proceedings leading up to the half time break but couldn’t find a breakthrough as the visitors held on to the lead.

The early stages of the second half was quite uneventful until Manchester City won a penalty in the 71st minute.

Sasa Lukic tripped a City player in the box and the referee spotted it and pointed to the box without hesitation.

Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, stepped up and converted the penalty kick to double Manchester City’s lead.

Ederson was alert again as he made a tremendous save late in the match to stop Sander Berge’s strike from going in.

Manchester City ended a trophyless 2024/2025 season with a road win and a Champions League ticket.
