Super Eagles target Tosin Adarabioyo set to make decision on international future

Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo says now is the time to make a decision on whether or not he would represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Adarabioyo also dismissed reports that he had already turned down the opportunity to play for the three-time champions.

Although he acknowledged that there have been contacts made previously, he didn’t reject the offer to play for the Super Eagles.

Instead, he revealed that he told officials of the Nigeria Football Federation that he wanted to focus on his club career.

“Both of those pieces of news are false. I have never turned down Nigeria and never had any conversation with them to say I would be going (playing) to Nigeria,” Adarabioyo said.

“At the point of last season, we had this little bit of conversation, I told them I wanted to focus on club football. I was in my last year at Fulham.”

Adarabioyo added that he will make a decision on his future in the coming months.

“Now I am at Chelsea, my first year, which I want to concentrate on again. I think now is going to be the time I need to make a decision.”

Tosin Adarabioyo represented England at youth level but hasn’t made never an appearance for the senior national team.

Reports suggest that Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has already made contact with Tosin Adarabioyo’s agent after the team beat Ghana to set up a face-off against Jamaica in the final of the Unity Cup.
