Chuba Akpom ignores Osimhen, reveals best striker for Arsenal to sign this summer

Super Eagles striker Chuba Akpom has told Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta the perfect striker to sign this summer.

Arsenal are reportedly torn between Sporting CP’s prolific striker Viktor Gyokeres and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko in their quest for a new forward.

Gyokeres has been linked to virtually every top team in Europe after another phenomenal goalscoring season in Portugal. Sesko, 22, has been extensively scouted by the Gunners over the past 18 months, and is most fans’ preferred option.

Former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom, now at Lille, shared his perspective on TikTok, insisting the Gunners must sign Gyokeres over the likes of Sesko or even fellow Nigerian Victor Osimhen.

When comparing the two strikers, he stated: “Gyokeres for me, and it’s not even close to be honest. It’s subjective, isn’t it, You can talk about the age of Sesko, but Gyokeres is ready now.

“You know I played against him in the Championship, he took Coventry to the play-off finals alone, with one or two other players, and he’s gone to Portugal and he’s scored, what is it? 50 goals in both seasons.

“If Arsenal are looking for now, then it’s Gyokere,s and if Arsenal had him the past few seasons, I’m not saying we would have won the Premier League but… I think Gyokeres is a beast and we need him now.”
