Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has addressed the “fine boy” appellation he gets from ladies especially.

Okoye is one of the most handsome players in the current Super Eagles set up and tends to get compliments from the opposite sex while on national duty.

While speaking on the AYSugar YouTube channel recently, Okoye says he appreciates his compliments but is focused on his career.

He added that he goes to the gym not for his looks but to remain fit, healthy, and improve his performance on the pitch.

“All the fine boy nonsense. Yeah, I am a fine boy but it is not that I am focusing on it. I was born like that,”

“I’m not going to the gym to look good. I am going to the gym to fit, look healthy, and perform better.”

“But people think I put everything on that, but my priorities are somewhere else than being fine, boy.”

Maduka Okoye had an impressive outing with the Super Eagles in the one-all draw against Russia in an international friendly match earlier in the month.

The 25-year-old Udinese goalkeeper was also impressive for the Italian Serie A last season as he helped the Bianconeri remain in the Serie A

However, Maduka Okoye’s future remains uncertain over a betting scandal currently under investigation by the Italian authorities.

Okoye will look to challenge Stanley Nwabali for the Super Eagles’ number 1 spot as the team enters a crucial phase in the FIFA World Cup qualification series later in the year.
