Chelsea confirmed the signing of Jorrel Hato from Ajax on Sunday evening, strengthening their defensive lineup for the new season.
The 19-year-old Netherlands international signed a long-term contract with the Blues, running through to 2032.

Hato will join his new teammates this week to prepare for the upcoming Premier League campaign at Stamford Bridge.
In an interview with the club’s website, Hato shared his enthusiasm for joining the west London side, explaining that the move aligns with his career ambitions.
“I’m very excited, I’m so happy to be here,” said Hato.
“I thought a lot about my future and wanted to take the next step in my career. Chelsea is the best place for me to do that, so I’m very happy.”
Hato will not be the final addition to Enzo Maresca’s squad as Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons remains strongly linked with a move, and is expected to join before the start of the season.
